What are your authorized areas?
Common areas include the lobby, the cafe, and the 1st floor restrooms. Event space guest access is based on event space reservation guidelines. If you’re interested in providing tours to other areas of the space, please coordinate with Toolbox LA to have one of our representatives available to provide tours.
There is absolutely no access to the makerspace or artist studios, or to the 2nd floor coworking area. The art gallery has business hours posted on the door - please only enter during business hours unless otherwise agreed upon. Computers, telephones, photocopying and other equipment around the innovation lab are not available for the event and/or participant without prior approval from Toolbox LA. The bar area is available for use, however, coffee, kombucha, tea, and Toolbox LA supplies are not to be used. Please plan to bring your own supplies, utensils, napkins, etc.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations will be accepted provided that notification is given in writing to Toolbox LA staff at least 14 days prior. In this case, the deposit is 100% refundable. To reschedule the event, Toolbox LA will do our best to accommodate within 6 months, depending on availability. If your cancellation is sent less than 14 days prior to your event, the deposit is non-refundable. Exceptions will not be made to this cancellation policy.
Can outside suppliers and supplies be brought in?
Yes, any items approved by Toolbox LA are allowed in the facility.
How do we access the building?
We will send you a guest access link for our Openpath System for the date of your event, which only requires a smartphone w/ bluetooth capabilities.
Is there parking?
Ample, free parking is available in the parking lot. Four ADA compliant parking spots are available in the lot. We’re also 1 mile from the Metro orange line Chatsworth stop.
Available hours of use?
The event space is available for use every day of the week from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The general office hours of Toolbox LA are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What are the reservation procedures?
The use of all rental rooms and spaces are scheduled in advance. Inquiries can be made by contacting submitting a request via the Event Space Request Form and contacting the Community Director by email at email@example.com. Reservations can be booked up to one year in advance and will be made on a first-come basis based on the availability of the space.

Are children allowed at events?
Children are always welcome at Toolbox LA with adult supervision. All event attendees, including children, must limit their use of the building to the designated area for the event and associated hallways and restrooms unless special arrangements have been made. Children are not allowed to enter the makerspace at any time during an event unless otherwise agreed upon and approved by Toolbox LA Staff.
Are we able to have entertainment?
The use of live music, as well as sound amplification systems indoors or outdoors must be approved by Toolbox LA. Speakers and microphones are available for use in the large event space.
Can we decorate?
Nothing can be stapled, nailed, tacked, screwed to the walls, windows or ceiling during an event unless approved beforehand. Additional rates may apply for repair. Post-It flip chart pages are the only items that may be affixed to the wall. No structures may be placed in the building including signs, banners, or any other objects without approval. All signs must be removed at completion of event. All types of confetti and glitter, or similar materials such as birdseed or rice, are prohibited both indoors and outdoors. All decorations and signage must be removed and cleaned up promptly upon the conclusion of the event. Any damage from non-compliance will be documented and billed to the organizer.
